  2         An act relating to driver licenses; amending s.

  3         322.01, F.S.; redefining the term "motor

  4         vehicle" to include certain mopeds; providing

  5         an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (26) of section 322.01, Florida

10  Statutes, 1996 Supplement, is amended to read:

11         322.01  Definitions.--As used in this chapter:

12         (26)  "Motor vehicle" means any self-propelled vehicle,

13  including a motor vehicle combination, not operated upon rails

14  or guideway, excluding vehicles moved solely by human power,

15  motorized wheelchairs, and motorized bicycles as defined in s.

16  316.003. For the purposes of this chapter the term "motor

17  vehicle" includes a moped as defined in s. 316.003(77).

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

19  law.
