  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to liability of nonpublic

  3         schools; creating s. 768.37, F.S.; providing

  4         for nonliability of a nonpublic school for an

  5         incident or occurrence involving students

  6         during unsupervised nonschool activities during

  7         school hours; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Section 768.37, Florida Statutes, is

12  created to read:

13         768.37  Nonpublic school immunity from liability;

14  unsupervised nonschool activities during school hours.--A

15  nonpublic school serving students in kindergarten through

16  grade 12 may not be held liable for any incident or occurrence

17  involving one or more of its students during unsupervised

18  nonschool activities occurring during school hours.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1997.

      Provides that a nonpublic school serving students in
24    kindergarten through grade 12 may not be held liable for
      any incident or occurrence involving one or more of its
25    students during unsupervised nonschool activities during
      school hours.
