  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to building codes; establishing

  3         a single statewide building code for governing

  4         the design, construction, code enforcement,

  5         erection, alteration, modification,

  6         maintenance, and demolition of the public and

  7         private built environment.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  There is hereby created a single statewide

12  building code for governing the design, construction, code

13  enforcement, erection, alteration, maintenance, and demolition

14  of the public and private built environment in this state.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 1998.
