14 On page 24, line 21, after the period,

16 insert: Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person
17 who leases a motor vehicle for a term of less than 1 year
18 shall, as a condition of leasing such vehicle, purchase
19 insurance that contains limits of not less than $750,000
20 combined bodily injury and property damage liability covering
21 the operation of the vehicle by the lessor or any other
22 authorized driver. Such insurance coverage must remain in
23 effect from the time the lessor takes possession of the
24 vehicle until the vehicle is returned to the lessee.
