11  Senator Geller moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 24, line 21, after the period

15

16  insert:  A rental company to which this subsection applies

17  shall not hold a renter or authorized driver liable for any

18  damage to the rental vehicle in excess of $250 except where

19  the damage is caused intentionally by the renter or authorized

20  driver, the damage arises from use of the vehicle by the

21  renter or authorized driver for purposes or in areas not

22  authorized in the rental agreement, or the damage arises as a

23  direct result of the renter's or authorized driver's

24  commission of a crime; provided, no collision damage waiver or

25  other waiver that provides coverage for damage subject to one

26  of the foregoing exceptions or for the $250 deductible may be

27  offered to renters or authorized drivers by the motor vehicle

28  rental company.
