11  Senator Lee moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 

14         On page 8, line 13, through page 9, line 6, delete

15  those lines

16

17  and insert:  endorsement as provided for in subsection (6)

18  (5); or

19         2.  Has received a minimum of 1,200 hours of training

20  as established by the board, which shall include, but shall

21  not be limited to, the equivalent of completion of services

22  directly related to the practice of cosmetology at one of the

23  following:

24         a.  A school of cosmetology licensed pursuant to

25  chapter 246.

26         b.  A cosmetology program within the public school

27  system.

28         c.  The Cosmetology Division of the Florida School for

29  the Deaf and the Blind, provided the division meets the

30  standards of this chapter.

31         d.  A government-operated cosmetology program in this

 3  The board shall establish by rule procedures whereby the

 4  school or program may certify that a person is qualified to

 5  take the required examination after the completion of a

 6  minimum of 1,000 actual school hours. If the person then

 7  passes the examination, he or she shall have satisfied this

 8  requirement; but if the person fails the examination, he or

 9  she shall not be qualified to take the examination again until

10  the completion of the full requirements provided by this

11  section; or.

12         3.  Has received training at a cosmetology program in

13  another state that is deemed by the board to be equivalent to

14  the training required in subparagraph 2.
