  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution encouraging local governments,

  3         including school districts, to permit the use

  4         of their public facilities for juvenile

  5         programs.

  7         WHEREAS, the state has the responsibility to develop

  8  diversified and innovative programs to provide rehabilitative

  9  treatment for juvenile offenders, and

10         WHEREAS, local governments, including school districts,

11  have many existing public facilities that could be used for

12  the operation of juvenile programs, NOW, THEREFORE,

13

14  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

15  Florida:

16

17         That the Legislature encourages local governments,

18  including school districts, to permit the use of their public

19  facilities for juvenile programs.

20         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution

21  be forwarded to the Florida League of Cities, the Florida

22  Association of Counties, the Florida School Boards

23  Association, and the Florida Association of District School

24  Superintendents.
