  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commending the FAMU High School

  3         boys' basketball team for winning the 1997

  4         Class 2A state championship.

  6         WHEREAS, on March 4, 1997, the FAMU High School Baby

  7  Rattlers won their sixth Class 2A state championship in a

  8  62-to-45 victory over Bradenton Christian at the Lakeland

  9  Center, and

10         WHEREAS, in the fight for the state title, the FAMU

11  High School boys' basketball team handed Bradenton Christian

12  its first Class 2A loss of the season, and

13         WHEREAS, the Baby Rattlers, with an 18-to-15 record,

14  lost 11 of those games to Class 3A and larger schools, and

15         WHEREAS, under the leadership of Coach Ron Lang, the

16  Baby Rattlers won their third state championship title in 4

17  years, NOW, THEREFORE,

19  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

20  Florida:

22         That the House of Representatives hereby commends the

23  FAMU High School Baby Rattlers for winning the 1997 Class 2A

24  state basketball championship.

25         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copy of this resolution be

26  presented to Coach Ron Lang as a tangible token of the

27  sentiments expressed herein.
