Florida House of Representatives - 1997 HR 9101 By Representative Bullard 1 House Resolution 2 A resolution honoring James Marshall for his 3 personal accomplishments and contributions. 4 5 WHEREAS, James Marshall, Assistant Principal of 6 Hammocks Middle School and the recipient of a Purple Heart for 7 his military services in the Korean War, has been President of 8 the Richmond Heights Homeowners Association for 14 years, and 9 WHEREAS, among Mr. Marshall's many efforts on behalf of 10 the homeowners association have been the attainment of 11 tax-exempt status for the association under the Internal 12 Revenue Code, successfully petitioning the Metro-Dade Board of 13 Commissioners to change zoning rulings to block construction 14 of high-density apartment buildings, and decoration of the 15 neighborhood for Christmas for the first time in 40 years, and 16 WHEREAS, Mr. Marshall has been involved in many 17 programs for youth, families, and senior citizens, such as the 18 After School Tutorial Program, and is responsible for the 19 establishment of the Richmond Heights Resource Center 20 Neighborhood Office, which provides local office 21 accommodations for Metro-Dade police and Department of Human 22 Services employees, who provide community services to 23 neighborhood residents, and 24 WHEREAS, in addition to his most recent honor of being 25 invited to attend the recent inauguration of President 26 Clinton, Mr. Marshall has received numerous awards from 27 branches of city, county, and national government in honor of 28 his leadership, NOW, THEREFORE, 29 30 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of 31 Florida: 1 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions.
