  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commending Clarence L. Edwards for

  3         his many accomplishments and outstanding

  4         service to his community.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, Clarence L. Edwards' varied business careers

  7  include 40 years of dedicated service to the Seaboard Coast

  8  Line Railroad and Amtrak, establishment of a successful drug

  9  store in the South Dade Community, and founding of a public

10  relations firm that specializes in political campaigns, and

11         WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards is a well-known community activist

12  and has for many years been actively engaged in numerous

13  civic, church, and educational organizations, and

14         WHEREAS, although many of his achievements are on a

15  national and state level, his local South Dade Community has

16  benefited particularly from his tireless efforts in the areas

17  of civil rights, economic opportunity, and health care needs,

18  and

19         WHEREAS, known as a person who "knows politics inside

20  out," Clarence Edwards has been a major force in many

21  political campaigns, and his advice and support are often

22  sought, and

23         WHEREAS, Clarence Edwards' integrity, honesty, and

24  dynamic civic accomplishments have earned the respect and

25  confidence of his fellow citizens, and his life has been an

26  inspiring example to others, NOW, THEREFORE,

28  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

29  Florida:

  1         That the House of Representatives of the State of

  2  Florida hereby commends Clarence L. Edwards for his

  3  outstanding business and civic accomplishments and his

  4  unselfish devotion to community service.

  5         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

  6  be presented to Clarence L. Edwards as a tangible token of the

  7  sentiments expressed herein.
