2 A resolution honoring Rabbi Norman S. Lipson.

4 WHEREAS, Rabbi Norman S. Lipson was born in Oklahoma
5 City, Oklahoma, moved to Miami in 1955, graduated from the
6 University of Miami, and was ordained in 1972 after graduating
7 from Hebron-Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in
8 Cincinnati, and
9 WHEREAS, Rabbi Lipson has served on the national staff
10 of the Anti-Defamation League, in congregations in Mississippi
11 and Texas, and as Director of the Institute for Jewish Studies
12 of the Central Agency for Jewish Education in Miami, and
13 WHEREAS, Rabbi Lipson became Rabbi of Temple Beth El in
14 Hollywood, Florida, in 1990, and, in 1996, became Rabbi of
15 Reform Congregation of Weston, Florida, and
16 WHEREAS, Rabbi Lipson has written extensively for the
17 Jewish press, is the creator of Jewish children's games, and
18 is the author of a book of poetry entitled, "Portraits of a
19 Chosen People," and
20 WHEREAS, Rabbi Lipson belongs to the Central Conference
21 of American Rabbis, the Broward County Board of Rabbis, the
22 Rabbinic Cabinet of the United Jewish Appeal, the Interfaith
23 Clergy Dialogue Group of the National Conference of Christians
24 and Jews, and the New York Board of Rabbis, and is currently
25 completing a course of study at St. Thomas University for a
26 Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, NOW,
27 THEREFORE,

1 That the House of Representatives honors Rabbi Norman
2 S. Lipson for his 25 years of religious, social, and
3 educational service as a rabbi.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
5 be presented to Rabbi Norman S. Lipson as a tangible token of
6 the sentiments expressed herein.
