  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commending the Orlando Regional

  3         Medical Center Air Care Team for its services

  4         to the citizens of Central Florida.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, the Orlando Regional Medical Center Air Care

  7  Team began emergency helicopter services on October 13, 1984,

  8  and

  9         WHEREAS, the Orlando Regional Medical Center Air Care

10  Team was the first air ambulance program in Florida accredited

11  by the Commission on Accreditation of Air Medical Services,

12  and

13         WHEREAS, the Orlando Regional Medical Center Air Care

14  Team regularly serves a fifteen-county area including Orange,

15  Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, Lake, Polk, Sumter, Marion,

16  Citrus, Volusia, Putnam, Indian River, Okeechobee, Hardee, and

17  Desoto Counties, and

18         WHEREAS, the Orlando Regional Medical Center Air Care

19  Team transports approximately 850 trauma, critical-care

20  pediatric, high-risk obstetrical, cardiac, and neurosurgical

21  patients annually, and

22         WHEREAS, the Orlando Regional Medical Center Air Care

23  Team has transported nearly 8,800 patients since beginning

24  services to Central Florida, NOW, THEREFORE,

26  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

27  Florida:

29         That the Orlando Regional Medical Center Air Care Team

30  is hereby recognized and commended for its services to the

31  citizens of Central Florida.
