  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution honoring the City of Dunnellon,

  3         Florida.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, in 1890, the City of Dunnellon burst forth

  6  upon the international scene as the foremost supplier of

  7  hardrock phosphate, and

  8         WHEREAS, in the tumult resulting from the economic

  9  explosion and consequent social upheaval, the City of

10  Dunnellon became renowned as a Florida Boomtown, and

11         WHEREAS, in respect of its boisterous productivity and

12  preeminent economic position, the City of Dunnellon has

13  regularly celebrated its historical status as a Florida

14  Boomtown, NOW, THEREFORE,

16  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

17  Florida:

19         That the House of Representatives hereby recognizes and

20  commends the City of Dunnellon on the celebration of its 107th

21  year in the festivities surrounding "Dunnellon Boomtown Days,"

22  April 18-20, 1997.

23         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

24  be presented to Larry Winkler, Mayor of the City of Dunnellon,

25  as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
