  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution proclaiming the week of March

  3         9-13, 1998, as Insurance Week in the Great

  4         State of Florida.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, most families in Florida own life, health, and

  7  property/casualty insurance as the primary forms of personal

  8  financial protection, and

  9         WHEREAS, insurance renders a great service by carrying

10  policyholder dollars back to our communities, where they aid

11  all segments of the economy, and

12         WHEREAS, insurance underwriting, performed by agents,

13  is the process of identifying risks and offering solutions

14  which protect and enhance the financial lives of families,

15  individuals, and businesses using life, health, and

16  property/casualty insurance and other closely related

17  financial products, and

18         WHEREAS, the licensed, professional insurance agent

19  helps families, individuals, and businesses find the insurance

20  products that best fit their needs, thereby providing a

21  valuable service to society, and

22         WHEREAS, all persons can benefit by professional

23  financial advice and informed decisions about life, health,

24  and property/casualty insurance, and

25         WHEREAS, adherence by agents to a professional code of

26  ethics emphasizing the highest standards of conduct and

27  service to consumers is essential in protecting the citizens

28  of Florida, and

29         WHEREAS, the Florida Association of Life Underwriters

30  is sponsoring a program to inform the public of the importance

  4  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

  7         That the House of Representatives hereby proclaims the

  8  week of March 9-13, 1998, as Insurance Week in the Great State

  9  of Florida.
