  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution recognizing Key Lime Pie as an

  3         important symbol of Florida.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, Key Lime Pie is an important symbol of the

  6  State of Florida as it is representative of the unique and

  7  delicious cuisine of Florida, is made of Florida products, and

  8  is consumed by tourists and Florida residents, and

  9         WHEREAS, the Key limes used in Key Lime Pie are only

10  grown and harvested in South Florida, and

11         WHEREAS, the egg whites used in Key Lime Pie come from

12  chickens bred and hatched in Florida, and

13         WHEREAS, the condensed milk used in Key Lime Pie comes

14  from cows that have grazed on the land in Central Florida, and

15         WHEREAS, the crust used in Key Lime pie is made with

16  crackers known as graham, and to avoid confusion, all graham

17  crackers should only be processed in North Florida, and

18         WHEREAS, the production and consumption of Key Lime Pie

19  promotes the agricultural and tourist industries of Florida

20  and thus contributes to Florida's economy, NOW, THEREFORE,

22  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

23  Florida:

25         That Key Lime Pie is hereby recognized as an important

26  symbol of the State of Florida.
