1 House Resolution
2 A resolution commending Nettie M. Draughon for
3 57 years of public service to the City of Plant
4 City.

6 WHEREAS, after 57 years of service to the citizens of
7 Plant City, Nettie M. Draughon retired in 1997, and
8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Draughon served as Assistant City Clerk,
9 as City Clerk/Finance Director, and, for 23 years, as City
10 Manager of Plant City, and
11 WHEREAS, in addition to her outstanding contributions
12 to the government of Plant City, Mrs. Draughon has provided
13 leadership as a member of numerous and varied civic
14 organizations and advisory committees, and
15 WHEREAS, over the years, Nettie M. Draughon has
16 received an array of awards in recognition of her talents as a
17 businesswoman and of her contributions as a civic leader, and
18 WHEREAS, among these honors, in 1990 the City Hall of
19 Plant City was named the Nettie Berry Draughon Municipal
20 Building, and
21 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the House of
22 Representatives should recognize Nettie M. Draughon for her
23 many years of unselfish service to the citizens of Plant City
24 and for the outstanding civic leadership she has provided,
25 NOW, THEREFORE,

27 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
28 Florida:

1 That the House of Representatives of the State of
2 Florida hereby commends Nettie M. Draughon for 57 years of
3 public service and civic leadership in the City of Plant City.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
5 be presented to Nettie M. Draughon as a tangible token of the
6 sentiments expressed herein.
