  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commending Al Berry for his

  3         accomplishments and for being named as the 1998

  4         Outstanding Citizen by the Plant City Kiwanis

  5         Club.

  6

  7         WHEREAS, ten Plant City civic clubs selected Al Berry

  8  as the 1998 Outstanding Citizen based on his many years of

  9  outstanding service to the community and his many civic

10  contributions in the Plant City area, and

11         WHEREAS, in addition to the Plant City Kiwanis Club,

12  other organizations involved in naming Al Berry as the 1998

13  Outstanding Citizen include the Sunrise Kiwanis Club of Plant

14  City, Daybreak Rotary Club of Plant City, the Plant City

15  Chamber of Commerce, the Plant City Woman's Club, the Plant

16  City Civitan Club, the Pilot Club of Plant City, the Plant

17  City Rotary Club, the Junior Elite Woman's Club, and the Plant

18  City Lions Club, and

19         WHEREAS, Al Berry has been active in broadcast

20  communications since earning a degree in broadcast

21  communications and journalism after attending the University

22  of Texas-El Paso and the University of Tampa, and

23         WHEREAS, in addition to his many civic contributions

24  for the Plant City Chamber of Commerce, Al Berry is well known

25  for his ability to develop civic fundraising and promotional

26  programs with national, regional, and local sponsors in

27  product promotion which include on-air, newspaper, and

28  in-store displays, and

29         WHEREAS, Al Berry and his wife, Patsy, have three

30  daughters, Kelli, Karen, and Lori, and have four

31  grandchildren, and

  1         WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the House

  2  of Representatives of the State of Florida commend Al Berry

  3  for his many civic accomplishments and in being named as the

  4  1998 Outstanding Citizen, NOW THEREFORE,

  6  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

  7  Florida:

  8

  9         That the House of Representatives hereby commends Al

10  Berry for his many civic accomplishments for which he was

11  named the 1998 Outstanding Citizen for Plant City and wishes

12  Al Berry much success in his future endeavors.

13         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

14  be presented to Al Berry as a tangible token of the sentiments

15  expressed herein.
