1 House Resolution
2 A resolution commending the 1997-1998
3 Bloomingdale High School varsity cheerleaders
4 for winning the title of first "Western
5 Conference Cheerleading Champions."

7 WHEREAS, on Saturday, February 28, 1998, the
8 Bloomingdale High School varsity cheerleaders, coached by
9 Michelle Schwartz, captured the first Western Conference
10 Cheerleading Title, and
11 WHEREAS, for the previous 6 years, high school
12 cheerleading squads from Hillsborough County had competed only
13 within their assigned divisions, the American, National, and
14 Federal, and
15 WHEREAS, divisional preliminaries for the 17 squads
16 competing for the new Western Conference title were held at
17 Armwood High School on Thursday, February 26, with the top
18 three finishers in each division advancing to the conference
19 final, and
20 WHEREAS, top honors in the divisional preliminaries
21 went to Bloomingdale High School in the American Division,
22 Robinson High School in the National Division, and East Bay
23 High School in the Federal Division, and
24 WHEREAS, the following Saturday night the conference
25 final was held, again at Armwood High School, and the
26 Bloomingdale Bulls squad bested their competition with a
27 routine filled with high-level stunts and tumbling and walked
28 away with the prestigious title of first "Western Conference
29 Cheerleading Champions," NOW, THEREFORE,

1 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
2 Florida:

4 That the 1997-1998 Bloomingdale High School varsity
5 cheerleaders, coached by Michelle Schwartz and consisting of
6 captains Kristen Fisher and Becky Kraus, co-captains Kimberly
7 Turnbow and Lindsey Tatum, and members Jillian Thompson,
8 Jennifer Turnbow, Krista Anderson, Jennifer Guggino, Jennifer
9 Durham, Heather Bellerose, Tracey Padilla, Jennifer Hopkins,
10 Katie Morgan, Amanda Harris, and Kristen Wiechert, are hereby
11 commended for winning the title of first "Western Conference
12 Cheerleading Champions."
