  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution amending the Rules of the House of

  3         Representatives; amending Rule 165; revising

  4         the configuration of the Seal of the House of

  5         Representatives.

  7  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

  8  Florida:

10         That the Rules of the House of Representatives adopted

11  for and during the Organization Session 1996 shall govern the

12  House with the following exception:

13         Section 1.  Subsection (a) of Rule 165, Rules of the

14  Florida House of Representatives, is amended to read:

15         XIII.  MISCELLANEOUS

16         165.  House Seal--The House Seal shall be used only by

17  or on behalf of a Member or Officer of the House or when

18  specifically authorized in writing by the Committee on Rules,

19  Resolutions, & Ethics.

20         (a)  Configuration. There shall be an official seal of

21  the House of Representatives. The seal shall be a circle,

22  having in the center thereof, a view of the sun's rays over a

23  highland in the distance, a sabal palmetto palm tree, a

24  steamboat on the water, and a Native American female

25  scattering flowers in the foreground, encircled by the words

26  "In God We Trust" and "House of Representatives."
