11  The Committee on Governmental Reform and Oversight recommended

12  the following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 2, between lines 2 and 3,

16

17  insert:

18         Section 3.  Subsection (15) is added to section

19  287.059, Florida Statutes, to read:

20         287.059  Private attorney services.--

21         (15)  No agency of the state shall enter into a

22  contract for legal services or continue a contract for legal

23  services that is terminable by the agency if the compensation

24  of the contractor is dependent in whole or in part upon the

25  successful prosecution or settlement of any action, claim or

26  proceeding. Any such contract for legal services entered into

27  or continued shall be invalid and unenforceable with respect

28  to all actions, claims or proceedings commenced after July 1,

29  1998.
