13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14  Remove from the bill:  Everything after the enacting clause

15

16  and insert in lieu thereof:

17         Section 1.  Section 215.245, Florida Statutes, is

18  created to read:

19         215.245  Contracts with Federal Government;

20  indemnification authorized in certain circumstances.--The

21  state and its political subdivisions, which are authorized to

22  enter into cooperative agreements or otherwise contract or

23  participate with the Federal Government in constructing water

24  resources development projects under the jurisdiction of the

25  Secretary of the Army, are authorized to agree in such

26  contracts or participation agreements to indemnify and hold

27  harmless the United States from damages due to the

28  construction, operation, and maintenance of the projects,

29  except for damages due to the fault or negligence of the

30  United States or its contractors; however, this section does

31  not obligate the Legislature to provide future appropriations

 1  and does not abrogate the provisions of s. 45.062.

 2         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

 3  law.

 8  remove from the title of the bill:  the entire title

10  and insert in lieu thereof:

11                      A bill to be entitled

12         An act relating to financial matters; creating

13         s. 215.245, F.S.; authorizing the state and its

14         political subdivisions to enter into

15         indemnification agreements with the Federal

16         Government with respect to water resources

17         development projects; providing an effective

18         date.
