14         Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 1, between lines 28 and 29, of the bill

16

17  insert:

18         Section 2.  Section 290.00695, Florida Statutes, is

19  created to read:

20         290.00695  Enterprise zone designations for Escambia

21  County.--

22         (1)  Escambia County may apply to the Office of

23  Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for designation of

24  five enterprise zones within the following five areas in

25  Escambia County:

26         (a)  The Warrington, Brownsville, Palafox Corridor, and

27  Englewood community redevelopment areas, as designated by the

28  Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency pursuant to

29  part III of chapter 163.

30         (b)  The Belmont DeVilliers community redevelopment

31  area, as designated by the City of Pensacola Community

 1  Redevelopment Agency pursuant to part III of chapter 163.

 2         (2)  The applications must be submitted by December 31,

 3  1999, and must comply with the requirements of s. 290.0055,

 4  except s. 290.0055(3). Notwithstanding the provisions of s.

 5  290.0065 limiting the total number of enterprise zones

 6  designated and the number of enterprise zones within a

 7  population category, the Office of Tourism, Trade, and

 8  Economic Development may designate five enterprise zones under

 9  this section. The Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic

10  Development shall establish the initial effective date of the

11  enterprise zones designated pursuant to this section.
