  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to husband and wife; creating

  3         s. 741.2105, F.S.; prohibiting marriages

  4         between persons when one of the persons is

  5         under a sentence of death; authorizing the

  6         Department of Corrections to make certain

  7         rules; providing an exception; providing an

  8         effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Section 741.2105, Florida Statutes, is

13  created to read:

14         741.2105  Short title; certain marriages prohibited.--

15         (1)  Short title.--This section may be cited as the

16  "Terry Lynn Matthews Act."

17         (2)  Certain marriages prohibited.--No person may marry

18  another person when one of the parties to the proposed

19  marriage is under a sentence of death.  The Department of

20  Corrections may enact rules to enforce this provision with

21  respect to inmates in the custody of the department.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

23  law.
