  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the official Florida

  3         Statutes; amending ss. 11.2421, 11.2422,

  4         11.2424, and 11.2425, Florida Statutes;

  5         adopting the Florida Statutes 1999 and

  6         designating the portions thereof that are to

  7         constitute the official law of the state;

  8         providing that the Florida Statutes 1999 shall

  9         be effective immediately upon publication;

10         providing that general laws enacted during the

11         1997 regular session and prior thereto and not

12         included in the Florida Statutes 1999 are

13         repealed; providing that general laws enacted

14         during the November 1997 special session, the

15         1998 regular session, and the 1999 regular

16         session are not repealed by this adoption act.

18  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

19

20         Section 1.  Section 11.2421, Florida Statutes, is

21  amended to read:

22         11.2421  Florida Statutes 1999 1997 adopted.--The

23  accompanying revision, consolidation, and compilation of the

24  public statutes of 1997 1995 of a general and permanent

25  nature, excepting tables, rules, indexes, and other related

26  matter contained therein, prepared by the Office of

27  Legislative Services joint committee under the provisions of

28  s. 11.242, together with corrections, changes, and amendments

29  to and repeals of provisions of Florida Statutes 1997 1995

30  enacted in additional reviser's bill or bills by the 1999 1997

31  Legislature, is adopted and enacted as the official statute

  1  law of the state under the title of "Florida Statutes 1999

  2  1997" and shall take effect immediately upon publication.

  3  Said statutes may be cited as "Florida Statutes 1999 1997,"

  4  "Florida Statutes," or "F.S. 1999 1997."

  5         Section 2.  Section 11.2422, Florida Statutes, is

  6  amended to read:

  7         11.2422  Statutes repealed.--Every statute of a general

  8  and permanent nature enacted by the State or by the Territory

  9  of Florida at or prior to the regular 1997 1995 legislative

10  session, and every part of such statute, not included in

11  Florida Statutes 1999 1997, as adopted by s. 11.2421, as

12  amended, or recognized and continued in force by reference

13  therein or in ss. 11.2423 and 11.2424, as amended, is

14  repealed.

15         Section 3.  Section 11.2424, Florida Statutes, is

16  amended to read:

17         11.2424  Laws not repealed.--Laws enacted at the

18  November 1997 special session, the 1998 1996 regular session,

19  and the 1999 1997 regular session are not repealed by the

20  adoption and enactment of the Florida Statutes 1999 1997 by s.

21  11.2421, as amended, but shall have full effect as if enacted

22  after its said adoption and enactment.

23         Section 4.  Section 11.2425, Florida Statutes, is

24  amended to read:

25         11.2425  Rights reserved under repealed statutes.--The

26  repeal of any statute by the adoption and enactment of Florida

27  Statutes 1999 1997, by s. 11.2421, as amended, shall not

28  affect any right accrued before such repeal or any civil

29  remedy where a suit is pending.
