  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution commending Dee Copeland for her

  3         community service and her outstanding

  4         accomplishments in the field of education.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, Dee Copeland has been a teacher since 1972,

  7  and

  8         WHEREAS, since 1979, Dee Copeland has organized a

  9  Harvest Festival food drive to benefit families in need at

10  Martin Luther King Middle School and in the surrounding

11  community in Milton, Florida, and

12         WHEREAS, the students of Dee Copeland received the

13  Governor's Award in recognition of the development of "Mama

14  Copeland's Pizza," a technology project funded by the Florida

15  Economic Council, and

16         WHEREAS, Dee Copeland has been awarded the Anna MacKay

17  Gutierrez Award by the International Society for Technology

18  Educators and the Florida Association for Computers in

19  Education, in recognition of her spirit of giving and her use

20  of technology in the classroom, and

21         WHEREAS, as a teacher for whom the classroom is her

22  heart, Dee Copeland is the epitome of her belief that a

23  teacher "sets an example that lasts a lifetime," NOW,

24  THEREFORE,

26  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

27

28         That the Florida Senate commends Dee Copeland for her

29  unselfish and effective work for her community and for her

30  outstanding accomplishments in the field of education.

  1         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

  2  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Dee

  3  Copeland as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida

  4  Senate.
