13         Senate Amendment 

14         On page 27, between lines 29 and 30,

16  insert:  (13)  Window protection products reported to comply

17  with the requirements of the Standard Building Code (1997

18  Edition) or the South Florida Building Code (Broward and Dade

19  Edition) or otherwise certified or approved for statewide or

20  local use by an approved product evaluation entity must be

21  included on all new schools in coastal school districts.

22  Although all new schools are not required to be designed as

23  enhanced hurricane protection areas, all new schools must

24  include window protection to further ensure their

25  survivability.
