13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 86, between lines 18 and 19,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines,

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         Section 72.  Effective June 1, 2000, subsection (6) is

19  added to section 318.1451, Florida Statutes, to read:

20         318.1451  Driver improvement schools.--

21         (6)(a)  No governmental entity or court shall provide,

22  issue, or maintain any information or orders regarding driver

23  improvement schools or course providers, with the exception of

24  directing inquiries or requests to the local telephone

25  directory heading of driving instruction or the traffic school

26  reference guide. However, the department is authorized to

27  maintain the information and records necessary to administer

28  its duties and responsibilities for driver improvement

29  courses. Where such information is a public record as defined

30  in chapter 119, it shall be made available to the public upon

31  request pursuant to s. 119.07(1).

 1         (b)  The department shall prepare for any governmental

 2  entity to distribute a traffic school reference guide which

 3  shall list the benefits of attending a driver improvement

 4  school, but under no circumstance may any list of course

 5  providers or schools be included, and shall refer further

 6  inquiries to the telephone directory under driving

 7  instruction.

12         On page 7, line 20, after the semicolon,

14  insert:

15         clarifying references to certain courses;

16         amending s. 318.1451, F.S.; prohibiting

17         governmental entities or courts from providing,

18         maintaining, or disclosing certain information

19         relating to certain schools or course

20         providers;
