  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Agricultural Emergency Eradication Trust Fund

  4         within the Department of Agriculture and

  5         Consumer Services without modification and

  6         placing it on the standard review cycle;

  7         carrying forward current balances and

  8         continuing current sources and uses thereof;

  9         providing an effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

12  the Agricultural Emergency Eradication Trust Fund within the

13  Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which is

14  otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

15  constitutional mandate, and

16         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund

17  before its scheduled termination date and has found that it

18  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

20  policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for

21  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

23  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24

25         Section 1.  (1)  The Agricultural Emergency Eradication

26  Trust Fund within the Department of Agriculture and Consumer

27  Services, FLAIR number 42-2-360, which was created by section

28  570.191, Florida Statutes, and which is to be terminated

29  pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

30  Constitution on July 1, 2002, unless terminated sooner by law,

31  is hereby terminated on November 4, 2000, and re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  5  2000.
