14 On page 1, lines 19-29, delete those lines

16 and insert:
17 (2)(a) It is the intent of the Legislature that the
18 Department of Management Services Division of State Group
19 Insurance and the Department of Elderly Affairs provide an
20 opportunity for public employees to purchase implement a
21 self-funded or fully insured, voluntary, long-term-care
22 insurance by means of payroll deduction plan for public
23 employees and their families.
24 (3)(b) The Department of Elderly Affairs and the
25 Department of Management Services Division of State Group
26 Insurance shall jointly review design the plan to provide
27 long-term-care insurance offerings to identify those that
28 represent the best value coverage for public employees, and
29 family members of public employees, and retirees. The
30 Department of Management Services shall review all fully
31 insured proposals submitted to it by qualified vendors who

1 have submitted responses to ITN #102A prior to February 23,
2 1999. Upon review of the proposals, the Department of
3 Management Services may award a contract to the vendor that
4 the department deems to represent the best value to public

15 Plan Act; requiring the Department of

20 proposals; authorizing the department to award
21 a contract; providing an effective date.
