11  The Committee on Community Affairs offered the following:

13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 23, between lines 14&15 of the bill

15

16  insert:

17         Section 7.  The item that shall appear on the ballot on

18  the date of the presidential preference primary of 2000 shall

19  be as follows:

20

21         "COUNTY TO BE GOVERNED BY COMMISSIONERS ELECTED

22    FROM SINGLE-MEMBER DISTRICTS AND ELECTED EXECUTIVE MAYOR"

23

24              "Broward County shall be governed by

25         commissioners and elected Mayor.  The

26         legislative branch of Broward County shall

27         consist of seven (7) county commissioners

28         elected from single-member districts.  The

29         Mayor shall be its chief executive officer with

30         the right of veto over legislative acts.  A

31         professional County Administrator shall be the
