  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to ex parte communications;

  3         amending s. 350.042, F.S.; providing for ex

  4         parte communications between members of the

  5         Legislature and the Public Service Commission;

  6         providing for members of the Legislature to

  7         address the commission at certain meetings;

  8         providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Subsection (8) is added to section 350.042,

13  Florida Statutes, to read:

14         350.042  Ex parte communications.--

15         (8)  This section does not prohibit an ex parte

16  communication between a commissioner and a member of the

17  Legislature nor does it prohibit a member of the Legislature

18  from addressing the commission at any scheduled and noticed

19  public meeting of the commission.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.
