  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Broward County; amending

  3         chapter 94-429, Laws of Florida; revising the

  4         definition of port jurisdictional area;

  5         revising territorial boundaries of the port

  6         jurisdictional area; repealing s. 6(2), chapter

  7         94-429, Laws of Florida, relating to authority

  8         of the county administrator to enter into a

  9         lease whose term does not exceed 1 year;

10         repealing chapter 91-356, Laws of Florida,

11         relating to a revision of the former boundaries

12         of the port jurisdictional area; providing an

13         effective date.

15  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

16

17         Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 2 of chapter

18  94-429, Laws of Florida, is amended to read:

19         Section 2.  Definitions.--As used in this act, the

20  following words shall have the following meanings:

21         (3)  "Port jurisdictional area" means the port

22  jurisdictional area described in section 3 of this act the

23  Charter of Port Everglades, being chapter 89-427, Laws of

24  Florida, as amended.

25         Section 2.  Subsection (2) of present section 6 of

26  chapter 94-429, Laws of Florida, is repealed, subsections (3)

27  and (4) of said section are renumbered as subsections (2) and

28  (3), respectively, sections 3 through 15 are renumbered as

29  sections 4 through 16, respectively, and a new section 3 is

30  added to said chapter to read:

  1         Section 3.  Port Jurisdictional Area.--The following

  2  described area within Broward County, Florida, shall be known

  3  as the "Port Jurisdictional Area":

  4

  5         A portion of Sections 13, 14, 23, 24, 25, 26,

  6         35, and 36, Township 50 South, Range 42 East,

  7         and a portion of the Atlantic Ocean adjoining

  8         said Sections 13 and 24, being more

  9         particularly described as follows:

11         Commence at the Point of Beginning being a

12         point lying on the intersection of the State of

13         Florida Jurisdictional East boundary line in

14         the Atlantic Ocean being 3 miles Easterly of

15         the State of Florida Coastal Mean Low Water

16         Line and on the Easterly projection of the

17         South line of said Section 24; thence Westerly

18         along said Easterly projection of the South

19         line of Section 24 to the intersection of the

20         East right-of-way line of the Intracoastal

21         Waterway; thence Southerly along said East

22         right-of-way line of the Intracoastal Waterway

23         to the intersection of the South right-of-way

24         line of the Dania Cut-Off Canal; thence

25         Southwesterly and along the said South

26         right-of-way line of the Dania Cut-Off to the

27         intersection of the West line of the East half

28         (E 1/2) of the East half (E 1/2) of the

29         Northwest quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section 35;

30         thence Northerly along the West line of the

31         East half (E 1/2) of the East half (E 1/2) of

  1         the Northwest quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section

  2         35; being the West line of the Lake Mabel

  3         Section of Hollywood as recorded in Plat Book

  5         County, Florida, to the South line of said

  6         Section 26; thence continue in a Northerly

  7         direction along the said West line of said Plat

  8         being the West line of the East half (E 1/2) of

  9         the East half (E 1/2) of the West half (W 1/2)

10         of said Section 26; also being the West

11         right-of-way line of a 260 foot wide Florida

12         Power and Light (FPL) easement to the North

13         line of the Southeast quarter (SE 1/4) of the

14         Southeast quarter (SE 1/4) of the Northwest

15         quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section 26 being the

16         North line of the said FPL easement; thence

17         Easterly along the preceding described North

18         line of the said FPL easement to the West line

19         of the Northeast quarter (NE 1/4) of said

20         Section 26; thence Northerly along the

21         preceding described line being the West line of

22         the said FPL easement to the North line of said

23         Section 26; thence Westerly along the North

24         line of said Section 26 to the Northwest corner

25         of said Section 26; thence Northerly along the

26         West line of said Section 23 to a point lying

27         693.51 feet North of the South line of the

28         Northwest quarter of said Section 23; thence

29         90°08'53" to the left from the preceding

30         described course in an Easterly direction along

31         a Northern property line of the Warren
