11 Nininger, Jr., State Veterans' Nursing Home";
12 directing the erection of a suitable marker;
13 providing an effective date.

15 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

17 Section 1. The baseball field at Florida Agricultural
18 and Mechanical University is hereby designated as the "Oscar
19 A. Moore - Costa Kittles Baseball Field" in honor of their
20 extraordinary leadership ability and outstanding contributions
21 to the university and its students. During Mr. Kittle's
22 tenure as baseball coach, the team won eight SIAC baseball
23 titles, six NAIA district playoffs, and one NAIA national
24 tournament.
25 Section 2. The tennis courts at Florida Agricultural
26 and Mechanical University are hereby designated as the "Althea
27 Gibson Tennis Courts" in honor of the university's star
28 athlete who is a pioneer in the realm of professional tennis
29 as the first African-American to win Wimbledon.
30 Section 3. Building #2, which houses the Colleges of
31 Arts and Sciences and Business at Florida Gulf Coast

1 University, is hereby designated as "Charles B. Reed Hall" in
2 recognition of his tireless and dedicated services as
3 Chancellor of the State University System of Florida and his
4 commitment to the creation and development of Florida Gulf
5 Coast University.
6 Section 4. Building #5, which houses Student Services
7 at Florida Gulf Coast University, is hereby designated as "Roy
8 E. McTarnaghan Hall" in recognition of his 23 years of
9 dedicated service to the State University System and the
10 leadership and vision he exhibited in support of the
11 establishment of Florida Gulf Coast University.
12 Section 5. The Seminole Golf Course at Florida State
13 University is hereby designated as the "Don A. Veller Seminole
14 Golf Course" in recognition of his role in developing Florida
15 State University's athletic program from its formative years
16 to the program of distinction it is today.
17 Section 6. Building 76 at Florida State University is
18 hereby designated as "William A. Tanner Hall" in honor of his
19 contribution to the formation of the Florida State University
20 Police Department and his service to the community as a leader
21 and mentor for 35 years.
22 Section 7. Building 1012, located on the Panama City
23 Campus of Florida State University, is hereby designated as
24 the "Larson M. Bland Conference Center" in recognition of his
25 visionary leadership and guidance as Dean of the Panama City
26 Campus.
27 Section 8. The building known as the Administration
28 Building, located at the University of Central Florida, is
29 hereby designated as "Millican Hall" in recognition of over 30
30 years of tireless and dedicated service of Dr. Charles N.

1 Millican, the founding president of the University of Central
2 Florida.
3 Section 9. The building known as the Humanities and
4 Fine Arts Building at the University of Central Florida is
5 hereby designated as "Colbourn Hall" in recognition of Dr.
6 Trevor Colbourn, the second president of the university, for
7 his outstanding leadership and dedication to the university's
8 growth.
9 Section 10. The Cancer Center at the University of
10 Florida is hereby designated as the "Jerry W. and Judith S.
11 Davis Cancer Center" in recognition of the generosity of Jerry
12 and Judith Davis for their contribution to the development of
13 improved methods of cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis
14 and treatment.
15 Section 11. The University Athletic Center at the
16 University of Florida is hereby designated as the "L. Gale
17 Lemerand Athletics Center" in recognition of the generosity of
18 L. Gale Lemerand to the university's athletic center.
19 Section 12. The tennis facility at the University of
20 Florida is hereby designated as the "Alfred A. Ring Tennis
21 Complex" in recognition of the service and generosity of
22 Alfred A. Ring to the university and its students.
23 Section 13. The Golf Management and Learning Center at
24 the University of North Florida is hereby designated as the
25 "John and Geraldine Hayt Golf Management and Learning Center"
26 in recognition of the generosity of John and Geraldine Hayt to
27 the university and its students.
28 Section 14. The new Florida Atlantic University
29 Educational Wing at St. Lucie West shall be known as the I.A.
30 "Mac" Mascioli Educational Building.

1 Section 15. The respective universities are authorized
2 to erect suitable markers for the designations made by this
3 act.
4 Section 16. The State Veterans' Home in Pembroke Pines
5 is hereby designated as the "Alexander 'Sandy' Nininger, Jr.,
6 State Veteran's Nursing Home." The Department of Veteran's
7 Affairs is directed to erect a suitable marker bearing this
8 designation.
9 Section 17. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
10 law.
