15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         (f)  Any other injury that would otherwise qualify

19  under this chapter of a nature and severity that would qualify

20  an employee to receive disability income benefits under Title

21  II or supplemental security income benefits under Title XVI of

22  the federal Social Security Act as the Social Security Act

23  existed on July 1, 1992, without regard to any time

24  limitations provided under that act.  In order for an injury

25  to qualify as a "catastrophic injury" under this paragraph,

26  there must be a causal connection between the injury which

27  serves as the basis for qualifying for Social Security and the

28  compensable accident.
