13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 28, between lines 10 and 11, of the bill

15

16  insert:

17         Section 32.  In order to implement Specific

18  Appropriations 1799 through 1807 of the 1999-2000 General

19  Appropriations Act, subsection (8) of section 440.05, Florida

20  Statutes, 1998 Supplement, is amended to read:

21         440.05  Election of exemption; revocation of election;

22  notice; certification.--

23         (8)(a)  The division may assess a fee, not to exceed

24  $50, with each request for a nonconstruction election under

25  this section.

26         (b)  The division must assess a fee of $50 with each

27  request for a construction industry certificate of election to

28  be exempt or renewal of election to be exempt under this

29  section.

30         (c)  The funds collected by the division shall be used

31  to administer this section, to audit the businesses that pay

 1  the fee for compliance with any requirements of this chapter,

 2  and to enforce compliance with the provisions of this chapter.

 3         (d)  For the 1999-2000 fiscal year only, the division

 4  may not impose the fee authorized under paragraph (a). This

 5  paragraph is repealed on July 1, 2000.

13         amending s. 440.05, F.S.; prohibiting

14         assessment of a fee applied to requests for a
