11  Senator Gutman moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 12, between lines 27 and 28,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 8.  Paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section

18  474.207, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

19         474.207  Licensure by examination.--

20         (2)  The department shall license each applicant who

21  the board certifies has:

22         (b)1.  Graduated from a college of veterinary medicine

23  accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association

24  Council on Education; or

25         2.  Graduated from a college of veterinary medicine

26  listed in the American Veterinary Medical Association Roster

27  of Veterinary Colleges of the World and:

28         a.  Obtained a certificate from the Education

29  Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG); or

30         b.  Passed the National Board Examination and the

31  Clinical Competency Test and obtained additional education or

 1  training in a manner designated by rules of the board to be

 2  equivalent; or

 3         c.  Passed the National Board Examination and the

 4  Clinical Competency Test and practiced veterinary medicine in

 5  an educational or research setting under the jurisdiction of a

 6  licensed veterinarian for a minimum of 5 years.

 7

 8  The department shall not issue a license to any applicant who

 9  is under investigation in any state or territory of the United

10  States or in the District of Columbia for an act which would

11  constitute a violation of this chapter until the investigation

12  is complete and disciplinary proceedings have been terminated,

13  at which time the provisions of s. 474.214 shall apply.
