13         Substitute Amendment for Amendment (100551) 

14  Remove from the bill:  Everything after the enacting clause

16  and insert in lieu thereof:

17         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 267.062, Florida

18  Statutes, is amended to read:

19         267.062  Naming of state buildings and other

20  facilities.--

21         (1)  Except as specifically provided by law, no state

22  building, road, bridge, park, recreational complex, or other

23  similar facility shall be named for any living person.

24         (a)  The sponsor of legislation naming such facilities

25  must provide written notice to the boards of county

26  commissioners of the counties in which the affected facilities

27  are located not later than one week prior to filing

28  legislation naming a state building, road, bridge, park,

29  recreational complex, or other similar facility for any

30  person.

31         (b)  A true copy of the notice delivered must be

 1  attached to the bill when introduced, but it is not necessary

 2  to enter the notice, or proof thereof, in the journals. The

 3  fact that the notice was provided to the appropriate boards of

 4  county commissioners must be recited upon the journals of the

 5  Senate and the House of Representatives. The notice must

 6  accompany the bill throughout the legislative process, and

 7  must be preserved as part thereof by the Department of State

 8  for each bill enacted into law.

 9         Section 2.  This act shall take effect on July 1, 1999.
