1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the Department of Children
3 and Family Services; authorizing the secretary
4 of the department to organize programs,
5 functions, districts, and offices, and appoint
6 district administrators, for certain purposes;
7 requiring a report; providing for repeal;
8 providing an effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of s.
13 20.19, Florida Statutes, the Secretary of Children and Family
14 Services may organize programs, functions, districts, and
15 offices, and appoint district administrators, for the purposes
16 of improving programs and services of the Department of
17 Children and Family Services and increasing organizational
18 effectiveness and accountability.
19 (2) The department shall submit a report detailing the
20 reorganization to the Governor, the President of the Senate,
21 and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by December 1,
22 1999.
23 (3) This section is repealed June 30, 2000.
24 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.
