18 (14) For the purposes of ranking and selecting
19 projects for funding pursuant to paragraph (3)(a) the
20 Acquisition and Restoration Commission shall ensure that each
21 water management district receives the following percentage of
22 funds annually:
23 (a) 35 percent to the South Florida Water Management
24 District.
25 (b) 25 percent to the Southwest Florida Water
26 Management District.
27 (c) 25 percent to the St. John's River Water
28 Management District.
29 (d) 7.5 percent to the Suwannee River Water Management
30 District.
31 (e) 7.5 percent to the Northwest Florida Water

1 Management District.
2 (15) It is the intent of the Legislature that in
3 developing the list of projects for funding pursuant to
4 paragraph (3)(a), that these funds not be used to abrogate the
5 financial responsibility of those point and nonpoint sources
6 that have contributed to the degradation of water or land
7 areas. Therefore an increased priority shall be given by the
8 Acquisition and Restoration Commission to those projects that
9 have secured a cost-sharing agreement allocating
10 responsibility for the cleanup of point and nonpoint sources.
