  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the tobacco lawsuit

  3         settlement; expressing the legislative intent

  4         to use a portion of such settlement to

  5         reimburse certain counties for health care

  6         costs associated with tobacco; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  The Legislature intends to use a portion of

12  the proceeds from the tobacco lawsuit settlement to reimburse

13  counties having a population of 75,000 or fewer persons for

14  health care costs associated with tobacco.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.
