  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zones; providing

  3         an extended application period for certain

  4         businesses to claim tax credits; providing an

  5         effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Notwithstanding the time limitations

10  contained in chapters 212 and 220, Florida Statutes, a

11  business that was purchased in February 1992 within an

12  existing enterprise zone designated in Tampa under section

13  290.0065, Florida Statutes, and that was eligible to receive

14  enterprise zone tax credits from July 1, 1995, to July 1,

15  1998, must submit an application for the tax credits by

16  December 1, 1999. All other requirements of the enterprise

17  zone program apply to such a business.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.

21                          SENATE SUMMARY

22    Allows any business meeting specified criteria until
      December 1, 1999, to apply for tax credits for the period
23    July 1, 1995, to July 1, 1998.
