20         627.6472  Exclusive provider organizations.--

21         (18)  Each organization shall allow, without prior

22  authorization, a female subscriber to visit a contracted

23  obstetrician/gynecologist for one annual visit and medically

24  necessary follow-up care detected at that visit. Nothing in

25  this subsection shall prevent an organization from requiring

26  that an obstetrician/gynecologist treating a covered patient

27  coordinate the medical care through the patient's primary care

28  physician, if applicable.

29         Section 11.  Subsection (11) is added to section

30  641.51, Florida Statutes, to read:

 2         (11)  Each organization shall allow, without prior

 3  authorization, a female subscriber, to visit a contracted

 4  obstetrician/gynecologist for one annual visit and for

 5  medically necessary follow-up care detected at that visit.

 6  Nothing in this subsection shall prevent an organization from

 7  requiring that an obstetrician/gynecologist treating a covered

 8  patient coordinate the medical care through the patient's

 9  primary care physician, if applicable.

10         Section 12.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1999,

11  except that sections 10 and 11 of this act shall take effect

12  October 1, 1999, and shall apply to contracts issued or

13  renewed on or after that date.
