14         Senate Amendment 

15         On page 15, lines 19-29, delete those lines

16

17  and insert:  part 68. A company certified under chapter 364 is

18  not subject to any local ordinance that requires a permit for

19  work performed by its employees related to low voltage

20  electrical work, including related technical codes and

21  regulations. The exemption in this paragraph shall apply only

22  if such work is requested by the company's customer, is

23  required in order to complete phone service, is incidental to

24  provision of telecommunication service as required by chapter

25  364, and is not the subject of a competitive bid. The

26  definition of "employee" established in subsection (1) applies

27  to this exemption and does not include subcontractors.
