  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution recognizing March 28-April 2,

  3         1999, as "Florida Housing Week" and

  4         congratulating President Edwin Henry and the

  5         members of the Florida Home Builders

  6         Association on the association's 50th

  7         Anniversary.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Florida Home Builders Association was

10  chartered in 1949 by the National Association of Home

11  Builders, and

12         WHEREAS, the 14,000 corporate members of the Florida

13  Home Builders Association and their 473,000 employees generate

14  a $40-billion impact on Florida's economy, and

15         WHEREAS, the Florida Home Builders Association has for

16  50 years protected and promoted the interests of home

17  builders, housing professionals, and the purchasers of new

18  homes in Florida, and

19         WHEREAS, the Florida Home Builders Association has been

20  a champion of free enterprise and a vocal advocate of

21  affordable housing for all Floridians, NOW, THEREFORE,

22

23  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

24

25         That the Florida Senate does hereby join with the

26  Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Cabinet in

27  recognizing March 28-April 2, 1999, as

29                       FLORIDA HOUSING WEEK
