11  Senator Rossin moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 2, line 24,

16  insert:

17         Section 1.  Subsection (4) of section 11.13, Florida

18  Statutes, 1998 Supplement, is amended to read:

19         11.13  Compensation of members.--

20         (4)  Each member of the Legislature shall be entitled

21  to receive a monthly allowance for intradistrict expenses in

22  an amount set annually by the President of the Senate for

23  members of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of

24  Representatives for members of the House not later than

25  November 1 for the next fiscal year.  In setting the amount,

26  the costs of maintaining a legislative district office or

27  offices that provide provides an appropriate level of

28  constituent services shall be considered.  The procedure for

29  disbursement of the monthly intradistrict expense allowed

30  shall be set from time to time by the Office of Legislative

31  Services, with the approval of the President of the Senate and

 1  the Speaker of the House of Representatives or their

 2  respective designees.  Such expenses shall be a proper expense

 3  of the Legislature and shall be disbursed from the

 4  appropriation for legislative expense.  The expenses provided

 5  under this subsection shall not include any travel and per

 6  diem reimbursed under subsections (2) and (3) or the rules of

 7  either house.
