  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to workforce development;

  3         creating the "Florida Workforce Investment

  4         Act"; expressing the legislative intent to

  5         enact organizational and programmatic

  6         improvements to the workforce development

  7         system in the state; providing an effective

  8         date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  (1)  This act may be cited as the "Florida

13  Workforce Investment Act."

14         (2)  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact

15  organizational and programmatic changes to the workforce

16  development system in order to improve the quality of the

17  workforce in the state and to facilitate the creation of

18  economic opportunities for residents of the state.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.
