11  Senator Klein moved the following amendment:

14         Delete everything after the enacting clause

16  and insert:

17         Section 1.  Subsections (1) and (2) of section 4 of

18  chapter 82-259, Laws of Florida, as amended by section 1 of

19  chapter 91-381, Laws of Florida, is amended to read:

20         Section 4.  Membership; terms of office; officers;

21  quorum; meetings; removal.--

22         (1)  The authority shall consist of seven five members.

23  As a condition of eligibility for appointment and to hold

24  office, five four members must shall reside within the

25  municipality, and two members must city and one member shall

26  reside within the Greater Boca Raton Reserve Area, as defined

27  in chapter 67-1112, Laws of Florida. Of the five municipal

28  residents, three must reside east of the airport, one must

29  reside west of the airport, and one may reside anywhere in the

30  municipality.

31         (2)  All members of the authority shall be

 1  representatives of the business and professional community,

 2  homeowners, and users of the airport. The county commission

 3  shall appoint two members, each of whom must reside the member

 4  who resides within the Greater Boca Raton Reserve Area.; The

 5  city council shall appoint the five members who must reside

 6  within the limits of the municipality as specified in

 7  subsection (1). one member from a list of nominees of the Boca

 8  Raton Pilots Association or its successor; one member from the

 9  city council's own nominees; one member from a list of

10  nominees of the Boca Raton Federation of Homeowners

11  Associations; and one member from a list of nominees of the

12  Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.  Each list of nominees, except

13  that of the county commission and of the city council, shall

14  consist of not less than three names of persons qualified to

15  hold office. Each nominating entity except the county

16  commission and the city council shall file its list of

17  nominees not later than May 1 of the year of expiration of the

18  term of office of the member nominated by the entity.  If a

19  list of nominees is not timely filed with the city council,

20  the city council shall proceed to fill the vacancy by

21  appointment from its own nominations. Members shall continue

22  in office until their reappointment or the appointment of

23  their successors.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

25  law.
