2 An act relating to the Boca Raton Airport
3 Authority; amending chapter 82-259, Laws of
4 Florida, as amended; increasing the membership
5 of the authority; requiring the board of county
6 commissioners and the Boca Raton City Council
7 to each appoint an additional member to the
8 authority; revising the qualifications of
9 members appointed to the authority by the Boca
10 Raton City Council; providing requirements for
11 the residence of such appointees; providing an
12 effective date.

14 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

16 Section 1. Subsections (1) and (2) of section 4 of
17 chapter 82-259, Laws of Florida, as amended by section 1 of
18 chapter 91-381, Laws of Florida, is amended to read:
19 Section 4. Membership; terms of office; officers;
20 quorum; meetings; removal.--
21 (1) The authority shall consist of seven five members.
22 As a condition of eligibility for appointment and to hold
23 office, five four members must shall reside within the
24 municipality, and two members must city and one member shall
25 reside within the Greater Boca Raton Reserve Area, as defined
26 in chapter 67-1112, Laws of Florida. Of the five municipal
27 residents, three must reside east of the airport, one must
28 reside west of the airport, and one may reside anywhere in the
29 municipality.
30 (2) All members of the authority shall be
31 representatives of the business and professional community,

1 homeowners, and users of the airport. The county commission
2 shall appoint two members, each of whom must reside the member
3 who resides within the Greater Boca Raton Reserve Area.; The
4 city council shall appoint the five members who must reside
5 within the limits of the municipality as specified in
6 subsection (1). one member from a list of nominees of the Boca
7 Raton Pilots Association or its successor; one member from the
8 city council's own nominees; one member from a list of
9 nominees of the Boca Raton Federation of Homeowners
10 Associations; and one member from a list of nominees of the
11 Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. Each list of nominees, except
12 that of the county commission and of the city council, shall
13 consist of not less than three names of persons qualified to
14 hold office. Each nominating entity except the county
15 commission and the city council shall file its list of
16 nominees not later than May 1 of the year of expiration of the
17 term of office of the member nominated by the entity. If a
18 list of nominees is not timely filed with the city council,
19 the city council shall proceed to fill the vacancy by
20 appointment from its own nominations. Members shall continue
21 in office until their reappointment or the appointment of
22 their successors.
23 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
24 law.
