  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution honoring Lieutenant Colonel Billy

  3         K. Knight upon his retirement from the United

  4         States Air Force after 24 years of

  5         distinguished service to our nation.

  6

  7         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Billy K. Knight, a resident

  8  of Fort Walton Beach and a proud Floridian, is retiring after

  9  24 years of distinguished service as a member of the United

10  States Air Force, and

11         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Knight, after graduation

12  from the University of Virginia, entered into the service of

13  his country in December 1975, and

14         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Knight received numerous

15  commendations during his 24 years of service, including the

16  Meritorious Service Medal, with two Oak Leaf Clusters; the Air

17  Force Commendation Medal, with one Oak Leaf Cluster; the

18  Combat Readiness Medal, with one Oak Leaf Cluster, and the

19  National Defense Service Medal, and

20         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Knight is currently serving

21  as System Program Director, Range Threat Systems Division,

22  Space and C31 Systems Directorate, Sacramento Air Logistics

23  Center, McClellan Air Force Base, California, and

24         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Knight is an officer and

25  leader who is well liked and respected by those who work with

26  him, NOW, THEREFORE,

28  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

  1         That Lieutenant Colonel Knight is commended for 24

  2  years of honorable and distinguished service to this nation as

  3  an officer in the United States Air Force.

  4         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

  5  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to

  6  Lieutenant Colonel Knight as a tangible token of the

  7  sentiments of the Florida Senate.
