17 Section 4. Subsection (7) is added to section
18 232.2463, Florida Statutes, to read:
19 232.2463 High school grading system.--The grading
20 system and interpretation of letter grades used in public high
21 schools shall be as follows:
22 (7) The Department of Education shall study the
23 effects and implications of implementing a grading scale
24 incorporating the grades of "B+," "C+," and "D+" and
25 corresponding grade point average values into the state high
26 school grading system with the intent of implementing the
27 grading scale changes in the 2000-2001 school year. The report
28 is to be submitted to the Governor, the President of the
29 Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the
30 Commissioner of Education prior to December 31, 1999.
